Retro RPN is a 24–hour Philippines digital and pay television channel owned and operated by Radio Philippines Network. It is the digital TV counterpart of RPN, the government-sequestered TV network in the country. The programming consists of classic and archived series and programs previously aired on RPN.

Profile[]

During the glory days, RPN became the home of the most successfully hit shows in a likes of top-raters: John en Marsha, Flordeluna, Superstar, Champoy, Buddy en Sol, among others.

Retro RPN is the 24–hour digital archive TV channel of RPN offers the best in Philippine television geared towards the early 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, some of the classic local programs from RPN's inventory, including its well–loved classic comedy and drama series, as well as its entertaining musicals and variety shows featuring your favorite singers and the stars of the big and small screen; as well as telenovelas, foreign shows from the U.S. and Hollywood movies. It also has the MTRCB advisory before the show.

History[]

In June 2019, the channel revamped its graphics and program line-up, and the programming schedule was overhauled yet again.

In February 22, 2021, RPN Classic will be rebranded as Retro RPN, together with RPN Kids, RPN Junior, RPN Play and RPN Life.

Notes:

  • RPTV, Retro RPN, RPN Kids and RPN Life are exclusive channels to RPN Digivisionbox, a digital set-top box marketed by the network.

On January 27, 2014, RPN launched its digital broadcast on a digital terrestrial television ISDB-T as RPN Digital started broadcast on UHF 22 to accommodate eleven digital multi-channels that will air local and foreign content to the station, which updated and used by the terrestrial network RPN 9. Under the new management, RPN is making adjustments to their feed for their audio and video by supplying its DTV channels through the new platform with foreign partnership.

On March 16, 2015, RPN began to transmit its digital test broadcast on UHF Channel 19 (503.143 MHz) as its permanent frequency assigned by National Telecommunications Commission.
