The show was moved to 8:00pm timeslot on January 6, 2018 to make way for the different sports coverage before the then-upcoming introduction of the network’s weekend broadcasts coverage of the games of the National Basketball League (NBL) Philippines, beginning with the inaugural season in August 25, 2018 (combined live simultaneously on PTV, the now-defunct BTV and RP2, with delayed basis on Solar Sports).
On July 14, 2018, the show celebrated its 1st anniversary.
PTV began celebrating the show's 2nd anniversary on June 8, 2019, with a return of Donny Pangilinan to the regular cast with the new season and new episodes. On June 15, 2019, three weeks before the official anniversary date, Rated Marriel marked its 100th episode, which was celebrated by the show's cast and production staff and team on the set, and featuring Belle Mariano as a guest star. On July 13, 2019, PTV marked the official anniversary of the show, with a live anniversary special episode for the first time held live at PTV headquarters to accommodate around different people crowd fans (including fans of Marriel), with Reign Parani as special guests.
From March 28, 2020 to May 30, 2020, the show was temporarily suspended production of the new episodes (including principal photography) due to the 2020 Luzon enhanced community quarantine amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, hence halting the schedule of airing the new episodes. Re-runs of previous episodes were re-aired for the time being.
The production of the show's new episodes was slated resumed on June 6, 2020 after the National Capitol Region and neighboring provinces will be placed under general community quarantine in June 1, 2020, with a continuation taping of new episodes with stricter safety measures, where the cameras rolling again was made thanks to the government's approval of safety guidelines and well-being of the casts, crew and production teams, which requires to wear face masks and face shields, that include rules on physical distancing, tests, and limiting of staff and practice regular handwashing and sanitation. Every episode will be a safety measure for the health of the casts and guests. In Barangay Vasra High School, students wear face masks and face shields to sit inside old ballot boxes and maintain physical distancing in a classroom during the first day of school reopening for the recovery to ensure the safety of our learners, teachers, and parents while using cellphones, tablets, laptops and computers.
On July 18, 2020, the show celebrated its 3rd anniversary.
In August 2020, however, after the new management came in, it was confirmed by PTV Network General Manager, Kat de Castro announced by the network decided not allowed to produce a gag show or sketch comedy format and keep the show by revamping Rated Marriel into a news program as it goes beyond the daily primetime newscast as the full concept of the production of news. Rated Marriel aired its final sketch comedy sitcom episode on August 15, 2020 due to COVID-19 infections in the People's Television Network, as well as disinfection procedures. The show is not allowed to get any news parodies and fake news due to concentration on a good news during the launch in 2017 when they're all banned any spoofing news by the government. and decided to stop making original short comedy sketches and satires due to the change of the new normal.
On August 22 to September 5, 2020, the producers compiled a series called The Best of Rated Marriel, which aired a mix of re-runs of previous episodes (2017-2019), behind-the-scenes footage and bloopers as a preparation for the new format in September when the disinfection operations and personnel recovery happened.
In September 12, 2020, following the reformat of PTV's news programming grid under the leadership of PTV Network General Manager, Kat de Castro, Rated Marriel, alongside the new morning show Rise and Shine Pilipinas, afternoon newscast Sentro Balita, primetime newscast Ulat Bayan and late-night news program PTV News Tonight, transferred to a revamped Studio B with a new set and relaunched, while updating its title card, a new logo and a new intro; where the latter resulted as the only show continued to be used for PTV Studio A with a new look along with the network's other programs including its public service program, Public Briefing: #LagingHandaPH and Digong 8888 Hotline, and change the format of Rated Marriel from the sketch comedy news sitcom (original format) to a full-time news sitcom (sitcom and newscast) as the current format (reformat) for the program as it goes beyond the dominance of weeknight primetime newscasts by dominating the primetime sitcom on weekends. Also, for the first time, the show is formatted as a comedy television series with a mixed sitcom and newscast format like a news program that concentrates on news and information with a stand-up delivery for news anchor Marriel, where she also has a hybrid news delivery at the news studio with a newsdesk, it follows the newscast format and features our trends with special reports, weather reports, sports and showbiz updates, more than a usual comedy skits. The show continues to be one of PTV's top-rated shows.

For March 20 and 27, as part of PTV's temporary programming changes, the show aired the best episodes as re-runs of two previous episodes (2019) under the title The Best of Rated Marriel. After three weeks of previous episodes, the show’s taping of new episodes resumed on April 5, 2021, with a continuation schedule of airing the new episodes with enhanced health and safety protocols being implemented on April 10, 2021 as Marriel delivers the news.

Music[]
The theme song, "Rated Marriel", composed by Dante Bantutua, was sung by the show's lead star and anchor Marriel Dagohoy. The song was composed for the television sitcom Rated Marriel.
The opening scene begins in every episode that appears with a story in subplots. The opening scene of the show are the introduction episode, cold open or segments for the show, followed by the theme song with the opening title plays near the beginning of every episode after the opening scene in an episode and before it begins to introduce Marriel at the news studio (with the teleprompter. In the telecast, she is introducing herself as well as the program, who will read the news and analyze the news) where she starts the program by saying "It's news time!" as the opening line at the beginning of each show and the start of the news (with clips from the different news items) that delivers the latest news and the scene in every episode. The theme song introduces Marriel, along with the cast members.
Reception[]
Critical[]
Rated Marriel received mixed reviews from critics and positive reception from audiences about the Philippine government, with Marriel Dagohoy's performance. Director Chito Cabatuando gave the one-hour comedy show about the Philippine government with no gags, no spoofs, no sketches, no satire, no silly news, no jokes, no fake news, no pranks, no parodies and no knock-knock jokes, just only pure good news lessons for the government news and public information that made headlines and news items with short skits and segments alongside the sitcom story to focus on its mandate in bridging the government to the people while delivering the news and catering the wider audiences, including mostly elementary and high school students.
Compared to previous PTV sitcoms, Rated Marriel is a full-hour news sitcom, with maximum 1 hour of running time and loaded with commercials (commercial advertisements), as well as PSAs and public advisories. As a result, the show is already beating the competition during weekends with relevant headline stories and the delivery of news apart from the sitcom story for Marriel's life to improve the ratings of the show.
Television ratings[]
The news sitcom's pilot episode debuted on PTV in July 15, 2017, to an audience of 1.3 million viewers and garnered a national TV rating of 9.9% household viewership, compared to their rival primetime sitcoms in GMA's Pepito Manaloto which registered 10.3% while ABS-CBN's The Voice Teens and IBC's Iskul Bukol are only got 10.1% and 8.7%, according to data released by AGB Nielsen Philippines. Since then, for the first time in the history of government television, Rated Marriel's ratings proved that it is the most-viewed programs on PTV and has established itself as PTV's leading comedy-news show on Philippine TV, according to Kantar Media and AGB Nielsen ratings, which both are devotionally paying attention to the three giant networks. The program was a major success for PTV, helping to establish the government network as a major player in Philippine television, and to revitalize the genre of sitcoms. The first-ever news-comedy show on Philippine TV is gaining more and more televiewers in the weekend primetime block, while steadily improving in TV ratings and has been receiving positive feedback from netizens, giving PTV that fresh commercial rating boost to supplement the station’s meager revenues.
In January 6, 2018, Rated Marriel moved its timeslot from 7:00 pm (original) to 8:00 pm (permanent) with a rating of 24.5%, compared to DMZ TV Non-Stop (34.2%), MMK (29.4%) and Magpakailanman (22.5%).
In September 2020, the show recently topped the Saturday night TV ratings, becoming the most-watched weekend program on Philippine television and a top-rated weekly program of PTV and awarded as one of the child-friendly shows by Anak TV.
In July 3, 2021, after less than 4 years of dominating the Saturday primetime slot, Rated Marriel finally grabbed the No. 1 spot in the ratings Since then, Rated Marriel garnered high ratings on its Saturday primetime timeslot compare to the counterpart programs.
Trending topics[]
Our trending topic #RatedMarriel became a nationwide trending topic on Twitter because of the positive tweets posted by viewers about the show. Despite the millions of views on TV, social media and YouTube, the official Rated Marriel Facebook page, which was put up on July 15, 2017, had 4,120 likes prior to the airing of the pilot episode when it zoomed up to 4,500 likes a post-pilot.
