PTV School Time Logo 2020

PTV School Time logo from October 5, 2020 to July 3, 2022.

The channel was announced by PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar in September 2020 and made its official launch on October 5, 2020 via PTV School Time, the network's digital subchannel and a morning programming block on the main channel in partnership with the Department of Education (DepEd), ASEAN and NHK.

The channel began its test broadcast in September 21, 2020. It began simulcasting the second dry run broadcast of DepEd TV programming from September 21–25, 2020.

PTV School Time was rebranded as PTV Plus on July 4, 2022, with its programming now focused recently on educational and cultural content. It categorized into two blocks: PTV Classics (classic educational, cultural and children's shows), NHK (educational, cultural and children's shows) and ASEAN (ASEAN documentaries). The same day, PTV's digital channel announced that it began to simulcast selected PTV programs, including the network's primetime and late-night news programs Ulat Bayan and PTV News Tonight starting July 11, 2022, the Philippines' longest-running children's show Batibot and the longest-running weekend primetime comedy/news sitcom Rated Marriel every Saturday, and its weekend newscast Ulat Bayan Weekend every Saturday and Sunday on PTV Plus starting July 16, 2022; along with the daily game show PCSO Lottery Draw every 2pm, 5pm and 9pm daily starting July 11, 2022.
