IBC Toons (stylized as i13c TOONS or IBC TOONS) was a Philippine free-to-air children's television channel created and owned by Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation and was one of the freemium channels of IBC Digibox. IBC Toons was the second animation channel of the Kaibigan network after IBC Kids, another digital channel owned by IBC. IBC Kids channel primarily aired Filipino-dubbed Japanese anime series and foreign cartoon shows, along with limited imported programming from IBC's main channel and IBC Plus.

History[]

IBC Toons started as its first test broadcast from Toon TV In June 30, 2012; full channel broadcast started in July 2, 2012. The channel will target viewers the chance to watch their favorite cartoons anytime of the day. Toon TV is the mix of all cartoons like Mattel Entertainment, YTV, Rainbow S.r.l. and DIC Entertainment. The station was adopted the first slogan It's A Fun Toons!.

On February 27, 2016, Toon TV added the Japanese tokusatsu and anime series (mosts shows are Filipino-dubbed) and the local fantaseryes produced and/or previously aired by IBC for the first time.

Starting December 19, 2016, Toon TV will now be available for Cignal subscribers on Channel 77, instead of Channel 36.

On June 4, 2018, Toon TV became available on IBC Digibox at Channel 8 (DTT). It was launched as a free trial channel together with DMZ Channel and Channel V Philippines.

On June 1, 2019, Toon TV officially launched its new logo and a brand new jingle for the animated channel for kids, teens, girls and pre-teens entitled It's A Toon Thing!, which was sung by IBC's pioneer artist and homegrown talent Joyce Abestano. The channel coincides the 7th anniversary of Toon TV since June 30, 2012.

On February 22, 2021 at 6:00 AM, Toon TV is offically rebranded as IBC Toons and a new slogan it's call Toons ng kabigan! (Toons of friends!).

On July 3, 2022, IBC Toons ceased its broadcast after less than 12 years due to low ratings as well as cost-cutting measures by IBC. Many programs from this channel transferred to IBC Kids starting July 4, 2022.

Anime series and cartoon programs were divided into various programming blocks.

  • Morning Toons - A morning block that airs selected foreign cartoons and children's shows intended for pre-schoolers and young children. It airs Mondays to Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM and Sundays from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM.
  • Nickelodeon sa IBC Toons – The channel's daytime (morning and afternoon) block consisting of cartoons from Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and game shows from Nickelodeon. It is aired every Mondays to Fridays from 7:30 AM to 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM and Sundays from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
  • Disney sa IBC Toons - A weekday afternoon block consisting of cartoons from Disney Junior and Disney Channel. It airs every Mondays to Fridays from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Saturdays from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM and Sundays from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
  • Shine On Primetime - The channel's flagship primetime block consisting of animated series, targeting the teen audience for young girls and teenagers, along with selected IBC fantaseryes intended for all audiences. It airs every Mondays to Fridays from 6:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
  • It's Anime Time - The channel's flagship anime block featuring Japanese anime series intended for all audiences. It airs every Mondays to Fridays from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM.
  • Tokusatsu Weekend - The channel's flagship anime block featuring Japanese tokusatsu and Sentai series intended for all audiences. It airs every Saturdays from 7:30 and Sundays from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
  • Toon in Weekend - A weekday afternoon block consisting of foreign cartoons and channel-produced programs that are considered child-friendly and family-oriented every Saturdays 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM and Sundays 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
  • Oh My Weekend! - the channel's weekend block consisting of cartoons, channel-produced programs and movies. It airs every Saturdays from 5:00 PM to 12:30 AM

Notes

  • all non-encrypted digital terrestrial TV channels broadcast within the area of the household will also be carried.
  • IBC Classics, IBCinema, IBC Kids, IBC Toons, DZTV TeleTrese, DMZ Channel, DepEd TV, and IBC Box Office are encrypted and scrambled with Multi2-based encryption, because of that, thus requiring SMS activation to unscramble those channels.
  • IBC Classics, IBCinema, IBC Kids, IBC Toons, DZTV TeleTrese, DMZ Channel, DepEd TV, and IBC Box Office are their digital channels to IBC Digibox, a digital set-top box marketed by the network.
